It was free with the Explore BUFFALO card, but even if you pay it was worth every cent. The tour started at 1 pm and he gave a in depth tour that lasted longer than the 2 hours as advertised. The rest was locals and the group that Sat afternoon was no more than 8. He is big in size & big in his lovely voice that can entertain a large group of attendees. The guide Larry, a local from Lancaster was a passionate & extremely knowledgeable son of Buffalo. What a wonderful introduction to the newly revived waterfront part of the old & proud Buffalo. We recently bought the Explore Buffalo card & this was our first use of it. I would definitely recommend the tour and checking this space out. After the tour we had a few drinks at the bar that just opened on the premises - cool and welcoming place with a lot of reclaimed materials used in its construction. Also some great opportunities for pictures of the lakefront and the Old First Ward. Tour took about 2.5 hours but it didn't seem that long as there was so much to see and discuss. The tour itself was great - started on the ground to give an appreciation of the scope of the Silos and then proceeded up to the top of two different Silos and learned how the grain used to move through these structures and what the workers used to experience when they were in operation. Larry provided a great account of the history of the silos and how the current owner is using the space as a cultural center for everyone to come, appreciate, and enjoy. We went on a vertical tour of Silo City with our docent Larry from Explore Buffalo this past weekend.
